Providing our students with the opportunity to serve others is a defining characteristic of a Jesuit education. Theology courses, peer-led retreats, and service opportunities enable our students to understand how they can make a difference in the world by using their talents and faith and become Men for Others.

Men for Others

“Today our prime educational objective must be to form men-for-others; men who will live not for themselves but for God and his Christ – for the God-man who lived and died for all the world; men who cannot even conceive of love of God which does not include love for the least of their neighbors; men completely convinced that love of God which does not issue in justice for others is a farce.”

~ Fr. Pedro Arrupe, SJ, Superior General of the Society of Jesus

We offer a four-year, structured program, coordinated with the Theology Department, that guides students into direct service with our neighbors who experience acute need or some form of marginalization. Students volunteer with people experiencing chronic hunger, with children in under-resourced schools, with young adults living with developmental delays, with people living in homelessness, with elderly adults in assisted living centers, and with agencies responding to, as Pope Francis states in Laudato Si, “both the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor.”
